It sounds like you are looking for null terminated strings (using the BIF %STR). However that might not completely cover your needs. On first sight it looks you need to pre-fill the field with *ALL(x'00') and use the %STR BIF (perhaps with a %SUBST) to fill the field. Might be enough, might not be. Cor
