Hi Peter

Don't get me wrong I use the Program-to-system field all the
time to give more meaning to error messages and such, however
my own preference is that if something is set in a display
file you should be able to find that in the RPG. To me that
is more readable, horses for courses I suppose. If we all did
the same thing we would be boring and Dutch. ;-)

Steve,

We (or rather I) use named indicators that make the program
more readable.

For instance if the screen field is called "S1PARTNBR", and
is conditioned to reverse-image & PC when indicator 40 is on
(in case of an error), then position 40 of the INFDS is named
something like "err_partnbr".

I find this makes reading the program much easier.

But talking about readibility then doesn't that get confusing
if you want
to do a PC and in the display file it is set using 40 and in
the program
its called something else?
