I ran into the same thing in the past two weeks trying to assemble a PREPARE
statement.  The method I used derived the character value of the numeric
field:

SqlStmt = 'Select * From FILENAME Where DATECYMD Is Between ' +
%Char(FromCYMD: 'Z') + ' And ' + %Char(ToCYMD: 'Z') ' Order By DATECYMD,
INVOICE# For Read Only'

The edit code `Z` will put the field into the string as a character value
with leading zeros suppressed.  I used this rather than a few other methods
discussed because I had eight different permutations of my record selection
which included a varying number of fields.

I have a need to pass a string to a procedure that will execute an SQL
statement.  Is there a way to include a numeric field with this?  I've tried
a few things, buy they've been unsuccessful.  I've done this is the past,

  In the below example, fields 2 and 5 are numeric.  This example fails:
