If the called program have parameter length > 32, you will use RQSDTA better, because CL only take over parameter len <= 32, If parameter len > 32, the command processor will trim the parameter right blank, so the called program will get some garbage char and the called program will get some exception. I always use RQSDTA for called program parmeter len > 32 for my sbmjob job.
