The precompiler does a pretty good job for static sql.

It grieviously pains me to say that, at least for fixed format sql, SEU 
will prompt for it as WDSC will not.
Neither will prompt for free format sql that is new for V5R4.

The WDSC verifier also will not show you that COMb should be COMp, but 
WDSC's compiler will.

     C/EXEC SQL
     C+ Declare C1 cursor for
     C+  SELECT LOC, COMb
     C+  FROM aaakey
     C/END-EXEC
