RE: Validating embedded SQL

Why not?

If it's a static SQL statement, you should syntax check it before you
embed it.

Not to mention, the pre-compiler will throw an error if the syntax is
wrong.

If it is a dynamic statement, then you'd get an error during the prepare
stage.
