I know others have answered your question.
I wrote a "rtvbndsrc" command and could generate the source from the QC2LE and
the other binding directories, if you want to have a look at it.

I should have recalled that one.

I was lulled into a false sense of security because the other APIS
(access, close, write etc.) didn't require that binding directory when I
was progressively building up the code.

So how do I know which APIs require which binding directory, or if they
require a binding directory at all?

And why isn't the __errno function mentioned in the manual?

Did you specify the QC2LE binding directory?

H BNDDIR('QC2LE')

or specify it on the CRTRPGMOD or CRTBNDRPG or CRTPGM commands.

__errno is exported from the QC2UTIL1 service program.
