It will be easier to have a "device" WEB in the F spec... mlazarus@xxxxxxxxxxxxx wrote:
Barbara, I would rather see another parm on the EXFMT. That way the method can be softcoded without conditioning blocks: UIType = '*WEB' ; EXFMT MYFMT UIType ; as opposed to: IF UIType = '*WEB' ; EX-UI MYFMT ; ELSE ; EXFMT MYFMT ; ENDIF ; Then there wouldn't be another opcode and Bob especially would be a lot happier that there's one less hyphenated opcode! -mark Original Message: ----------------- From: Barbara Morris bmorris@xxxxxxxxxx Date: Fri, 26 May 2006 14:09:07 -0400 To: rpg400-l@xxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: Re: RPG, 10 years from now Bob Cozzi wrote:Hopefully EXUI means "Kill the Supreme Rhino" when translated literallyto somenative language in a country IBM is strategically trying to enter.Otherwise...you already no the opcode name. :(Snort. Don't worry, what George shows around is often far from being fully designed. George's presentations are often just a preliminary sketch to help people understand what he is saying, just like Aaron suggested. As the designs firm up, George's presentations may be closer to the final reality. "EXUI" makes me carsick. For what it's worth, my best guess for the "EXUI" opcode is "EXFMT". It's a goofy name, but it seems sort of familiar to me ... Anyway, it wouldn't be EXUI, it would be EX-UI. (rubbing salt into Bob's wound)
