As long as the loading and updating is done in the same program on the same file, you should not get record lock problem. Are you actually having record lock problem? -----Original Message----- From: rpg400-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:rpg400-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Ken Kerata Sent: Friday, May 12, 2006 2:22 PM To: RPG400-L@xxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: reads and updates on the same file This program displays a subfile of all records in the file and later updates individual records. To avoid record locks, I created a new logical file with the same key as the originals. Is there a more elegant solution, which avoids creating a second logical? This is my first posting, so I would appreciate any advice.
