Right. In V5R4 you can code this: PREFIX('' : 2) Which deletes the first two characters from the field name without adding any additional prefix characters. -Bob Cozzi www.RPGxTools.com RPG xTools - Enjoy programming again. -----Original Message----- From: rpg400-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:rpg400-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Ala, Michael A Sent: Wednesday, March 01, 2006 10:55 AM To: rpg400-l@xxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: Renaming Input Fields Sidenote to PREFIX: In V5R4 I believe you can now Replace characters with the prefix Where as in previous versions you could only prefix characters to the original field name i.e. ABMCU, IBMCU You could change to XABMCU and YIBMCU But now you can Change them both to AAMCU this lends itself to the new Move-Corr Operator Michael Ala -----Original Message----- From: rpg400-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:rpg400-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of rpg400-l-request@xxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Wednesday, March 01, 2006 11:00 AM To: rpg400-l@xxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: RPG400-L Digest, Vol 5, Issue 280 Send RPG400-L mailing list submissions to rpg400-l@xxxxxxxxxxxx To subscribe or unsubscribe via the World Wide Web, visit http://lists.midrange.com/mailman/listinfo/rpg400-l or, via email, send a message with subject or body 'help' to rpg400-l-request@xxxxxxxxxxxx You can reach the person managing the list at rpg400-l-owner@xxxxxxxxxxxx When replying, please edit your Subject line so it is more specific than "Re: Contents of RPG400-L digest..." *** NOTE: When replying to this digest message, PLEASE remove all text unrelated to your reply and change the subject line so it is meaningful. Well... I find that "scheduled work hours" is not a good measure of the hours one actually works. I find there's a difference between the hours on the clock and the time workers put in during the day. I find that, (often) people who brag about long hours actually work few hours per day than those with fewer schedule work hours. Why? I believe it's because there's less time to finish things so there less incentive and opportunity to waste time. Thus a culture of working is created vs a culture of finding ways to fill the extra time to look busy. -Bob Cozzi www.RPGxTools.com RPG xTools - Enjoy programming again. -----Original Message----- From: rpg400-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:rpg400-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of RPower@xxxxxxxxxx Sent: Wednesday, March 01, 2006 8:22 AM To: RPG programming on the AS400 / iSeries Subject: RE: worst RPG ever seen? 6.75 hours per day with 2 15 minute breaks and a 45 minute lunch....
