The best recognition I ever got was at a company that I contracted with off and on. At one stint they mentioned they'd like a particular report, but to fit it into down-time when the regular project was bogged down. No specs, just see what I could piece together, don't get frustrated. So, I did it. It was a lot of questioning and a lot of piecing together of existing info, but nothing spectacular.

Next stint I was there a senior VP stopped me in the hall one day and said "You are the one that created the "Booth Report" aren't you?." My answer was "huh?" with a suitably stupid looking expression. As it turns out, they'd been trying to get this report for at least 7 years with no success. Thats why all I had to do was piece stuff together. For some reason it had caused a lot of discussion, and in the process the report became known by my name. I felt flattered.

I guess this is why Conservatives tend to hate Unions. Or are they
Jealous?

6.75 hours per day with 2 15 minute breaks and a 45 minute lunch....
Anything more would be uncivilized.

:)

I recall the days of working for private business... 10 and 12 hour
days,
no lunch breaks... and most importantly, no recognition ....

|To be totally honest here. I don't let work drive me insane. I just
do
|my job to the best of my ability and at 4:30 I go home. I don't
think
no
|more about it until 9:00 AM the next morning. I don't get paid
enough
|(nor could I ever get paid enough) to let the worries of work follow
me
|home. I leave them at the door when I leave. I do get frustrated at
|times, but never to the point where I would lose my sanity. That
comes
|when I get home and can't get in the front door because the kids have
it
|blocked off with bookbags, shoes, sneakers and boots lol. But work..
nah
|I don't let that bother me. but of course... I'm union too and work
for
|government so I guess I might be a special case.... :)
