I have a file that is using an auto Generated identity field set as the
primary key.  ( file was created using sql create table not DDS) I do not
have a problem writing to the record.  I do however need to find a way to
get the value from the identity field so that I can then place this value
in other files to reference instead of a business key.
Here is what I have tried
I write the record and see if RPG if the identity field will be
automagically updated inside the RPG program.  This does not work (no
suprise)

create an index (logical file)  with the timestamp and a business key then
get the value of the Identity field.  This works but would like to find a
way that does not require creating an index (logical) and then chaining.
