I was just going to say, you obviously haven't installed any MS products in a while. First you install from disk applying your 157 character registration key (which you may have to go through 12 web pages to find), then it phones home to make sure you're not a Somalian software bootlegger, at which point it downloads the latest service pack, some of which rival the WDSC fix pack. Putting together my little two-horse network, I had to go through this process upwards of five times (two OS's and three different Office products). > To the best of my knowledge, > Eclipse doesn't take this long to install and jDeveloper (which is what > we use here for Java) is really easy -- all you have to do is install a > JDK and unzip jDeveloper. It takes about 10-15 minutes and you're done. Nor does Eclipse have anywhere the functionality of WDSC. > I don't care how good a tool is, if it doesn't give the impression that > it's going to make your life better right away or even worse, seems like > it's going to be difficult to use, you're going to have a hard time of > convincing people to use that tool. The install sucks. The products kicks butt. You install once. You use the product every day. Joe
