I wonder if the value in the subfile is being added to the field to be printed?

Its looking to me like you are reading through a file and populating fields in a subfile, and then reading the subfile to get the value you want. However, which field are you using to populate your packed field?

It's packed in the PF. In the DDS, I use the REF for define.
Am I suppposed to unpack it in the program?

I am doing nothing to it in the RPG ILE program, it is just supposed to be
displayed after the user selected the record on the main
subfile listing.

I am not sure, how would this be happening?
Are you sure you're not writing a field in the attribute byte of the
packed field in the DDS?

Subject: packed field

HI I have a packed field, defined as 6 3.
I mimic this description in the DDS ( it is to be displayed when the
user selected the record from the Subfile listing),

There is data there but it is not displaying on the screen. For
debugging I put in a loop if the file has this field at 0, keep reading
the next record. This renders the subfile empty.

I seem to be missing somthing.
