True enough about RPG II and III.
But if you find a better/easier way to process every record in multiple
files in an 'interlaced' fashion WITHOUT using Matching Record processing
on primary and secondary file(s), let me know.

Re: Input Secondary

Thank you, everyone! I've learned more about input secondary files now
than I ever wanted to know! And I got down on my knees and thanked God
that I don't ever have to program in RPG II anymore!

Multi-file Processing with No Match Fields When no match fields are
used in multi-file processing, records are selected from one file at a
time. When the records from one file are all processed, the records from
the next file are selected. The files are selected in this order:
       Primary file, if specified
Secondary files in the order in which they are described on the
file description specifications.

one of these in about 17 years. Can someone who might have used one more
recently give me a Readers Digest overview of how/why this is used? I
coukd look it up of course, but if someone knows off the top of their
head....

    TIA!
