There is really no way to call a sub-procedure without it being in a service program or program. If the sub-procedure is in a program, you will need to LR the program when you are thru with it. If it is in a service program, in general it is not a good idea to close the file. You will probably need to run it in a *new activation group. -----Original Message----- From: rpg400-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:rpg400-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of JMBauman@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Friday, November 04, 2005 10:28 AM To: rpg400-l@xxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: ILE and Access Paths As a matter of fact Rob, this subprocedure is called over and over. That was my problem with doing the LR. My goal is to have the files closed when I am completely done calling the sub procedure. I leave the activation group as the default on the CRTPGM. Your guidance is apprececiated.
