Thanks again for the reply. I'd like to know where it's specified that 'multiple levels of qualification and array subscripting' are not supported in the standards. Which RFC is that? Actually I would think that an RFC like that would apply to whatever the sql scripting language is called and not to an embedded SQL precompiler. It would be different if we were requesting something like x=%elem(Division.Plant.Location); exec sql fetch :x rows into :Division(a).Plant(b).Location; which, come to think of it, isn't a bad idea.
