Jon, I have to agree with you. And I think I pointed this out to you awhile back. Allowing SQL to read free format, like /free exec sql insert into ... is just pretty stuff. (Really nice pretty stuff, though). Having SQL generate free format code is functional improvement. Then again, it just might be my lack of understanding of continuation rules in fixed format. I think either of the following is legal C EVAL MyDivision(x). C MyPlant(y).MyLocation(z) = SQL_00011 C EVAL MyDivision(x).MyPlant(y).My- C Location(z) = SQL_00011 (Been awhile since I generated fixed format code so I had to look this up.) Rob Berendt
