How about SFLSIZ ? I never could spell and concentrate at the same time. :) I am curious how a subfile can be sparse. I am also curious why it is complicated to establish the size of the subfile? Its just a whole lot easier, in my mind, to use SFLSIZ(&SFLRECS) and be done with it. After filling the subfile just eval SFLRECS = RRN and everything works well. --------------------------------- Booth Martin http://www.martinvt.com --------------------------------- -------Original Message------- From: RPG programming on the AS400 / iSeries Date: 10/04/05 14:23:46 To: rpg400-l@xxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: Re: For/endfor loop Martin, Assuming the subfile isn't sparse (no skipped RRNs) I'd rather sequentially work through the subfile until %Found fails. Then you don't have to keep track of a separate SFLRECS value for the total number of records in the subfile. The loop is more complicated but you can't run into any problems with SFLRECS not matching the actual records in the subfile. Is SFLSIZE some new keyword in V5R3?
