        this is working as expected.

by setting an indicator on for ERRMSG or ERRMSGID, the
screen is not refreshed, only the field attributes are 
sent such as Reverse Image.

Connie - is your message a general one not associated to
a field on the display ? , if so then use SFLMSGID within the
Control record (before any fields)

If it is on a field on the Control record then you can use
ERRMSG/ID & this should work fine.
