Mike, That was a quick & dirty example. So don't use it a gospel <grin> For a 'select *' you'd most likely use a cursor along with a 'fetch into'. The 'select into' is only useful when the select returns only one row. As far as how :someDS would be defined...it's simply a regular RPG IV data structure.
