Yes. By default, commitment control is set to *CHG which means that you either need to turn it off or journal the file when you do UPDATEs, INSERTs, or DELETEs. There are a couple of ways to resolve this error. First is to journal the file. Second is to change the commitment control compile option (either program by program or the command object itself). Third is to put the "WITH NC" clause on all of your action queries. Fourth is to use the SET OPTIONS statement to set the commitment control option to *NONE (look in the archives or read the SQL documentation in the InfoCenter to see how to do this).
