>> I have a 9,5 field divided by a (9,5 field/2000) so the result >> could have a large number of decimals, The number of decimals should not cause a problem, it will just truncate. The error "target too small" means too small in the sense that the integer portion is too large. Now that I see your calculation it seems to me that there are many values which could cause overflow like this. You haven't told us what the values involved are but ... If we express what you are doing as A / (B / 2000) then (ignoring decimals for simplicity) any value of B which is less than 2,000 will produce a fractional result which means that the overall result will be greater than the value in A - which could overflow the result field. e.g. If A = 9,999 and B < 2,000 then boom - overflow. The smaller the value of B, the smaller the value in A must be to avoid this. So - what are the values involved when it blows up? Jon Paris Partner400 www.Partner400.com www.RPGWorld.com
