That's a good point Tom, if the context is front-ending an RPG program with a Microsoft server. But some old RPGers might argue that the traditional workstation metaphor is an "event" oriented interface that does offer separation between "screen" and "database" I/O. Consider the following example of an RPG based Web interface, that I've been playing with.
