This is cause by an attribute of the file. It is not delete capable. This was
customary for S36 files. If you do a DSPFD on that file and you look for the
ALWDLT keyword, it is most likely set to *NO.

I dont remember how to change that attribute but you can fix this by creating a
new file (CRTPF) wit the correct attribute and then copy the content of the
original file, then delete/rename and you are set.

This has me stumped. I have *ALLOBJ authority on the system, at
V4Rsomething. I want to delete a record from a file in QS36F. I tried
using UPDDTA and can see the record, but it will not display. I wrote a
oneshot to delete the record. It finds the record, but when I try to do a
delete it fails, saying the operation is not allowed. The F-spec is
Update/Full Program described, indexed.

Any ideas?
