RE: Update a particular record in a sequential file

Sure,
If you chain the file using the relative record number, or a SETLL and READ
you can get to the record in question. 
If you're asking "How to I locate a specific record, not be relno, but by
its content without reading through it or using a logical" then No you can't
do that.
