Douglas, Pay close attention to the field cross reference at the bottom of the compiler listing. Looking at the definition of the fields at the top of the program in the input records or in the DDS for the files might not always show you the problem. You might have the variables defined somewhere else as a work variable or on another record in the display file. Find the fields at the bottom of the listing to find what type they have as far as the compiler is concerned. Use the listed defined references to locate where the fields are defined incorrectly.
