There are no limitations. Use the c api's you can do anything ie: *Prototypes for math functions dsin PR 8f Extproc('sin') din 8f value dcos PR 8f Extproc('cos') din 8f value dacos PR 8f Extproc('acos') din 8f value //Convert Raidans To Miles theta = long1 - long2; dist = radius * acos((sin(lat1)*sin(lat2))+ (cos(lat1)*cos(lat2)*cos(theta))); Bruce Odum .Net\AS400 Programmer (423) 510-3821 U.S. XPRESS ENTERPRISES, Inc. -----Original Message----- From: James R. Only thing is I could really use something more "verbose" when it comes to calculations. The rewrite will do things like compute an average, maximum, and minimum of a variable over time. Are there ways around some of the mathematical limitations of RPG or are there other iSeries languages I should consider. Does ILE buy me anything here? Also, I'm still using PDM to write code. Are there better things to use for development? Whatever happened to CODE400, VisualRPG, etc? BTW, these are NOT web apps so no need to webface them, although some of the tools I've seen look pretty snappy. TIA - I'm just a tad rusty - does it show? :) -- This is the RPG programming on the AS400 / iSeries (RPG400-L) mailing list To post a message email: RPG400-L@xxxxxxxxxxxx To subscribe, unsubscribe, or change list options, visit: http://lists.midrange.com/mailman/listinfo/rpg400-l or email: RPG400-L-request@xxxxxxxxxxxx Before posting, please take a moment to review the archives at http://archive.midrange.com/rpg400-l.
