I'm about to start rewriting my RPG400 applications to add more calculations (I was going to do the rewrite in RPG400 also). Only thing is I could really use something more "verbose" when it comes to calculations. The rewrite will do things like compute an average, maximum, and minimum of a variable over time. Are there ways around some of the mathematical limitations of RPG or are there other iSeries languages I should consider. Does ILE buy me anything here? Also, I'm still using PDM to write code. Are there better things to use for development? Whatever happened to CODE400, VisualRPG, etc? BTW, these are NOT web apps so no need to webface them, although some of the tools I've seen look pretty snappy. TIA - I'm just a tad rusty - does it show? :)
