It's free. 

The current edition is probably the most readable book on RPGIV
available. I could be wrong about that, I haven't researched the
competition thoroughly.  I also think it's a good idea for IBM to put
out a general book on RPG that's not a reference manual.  Sun provides a
java tutorial on their web site.  It's not as good as the RPG Redbook,
but I guess we're lucky.    

It's free.

Here's a question.  I see a lot of input on this RPG Redbook.

Now, what makes the Redbook so alluring?  It's from IBM?
 It's free?  Both?  (I left out "It's written by Jon"
because that should be an obvious reason).

There are a lot of RPG books/training manuals out there now with some
great topics.  And I'm sure Jon and others who contribute these types of
materials could be better "thanked" through royalties.  So I'm assuming
the answer to the above question is "it's free"?

I'm not putting down redbooks, just curious.
