Something like this should work, where MYDBF is the input buffer for the
database file on the trigger program.


D myDBF     E DS             Extname(myDBF)

D TriggerDS   DS              QUALIFIED
D  addlField1            D
D  addlField2            T
D   dbRecord                  LikeDS(myDBF)


C             eval     TriggerDS.AddField1 = %Date()
C             eval     TriggerDS.dbRecord = myDBF
