Do you mean that once you press enter, you should be on screen 2 but you
can still move the cursor back to screen 1 and edit the fields there? If
so, then what is wrong is that the indicator protection will only take
effect after being set on if you rewrite that screen. If you want the
screen to be rewritten as a background consider this:
D DISPIND DS
D PKEY 01 01N
C EXFMT recordno1
C EVAL PKEY=*ON
* Write out the record format again for display purpose only with the
fields protected
C WRITE recordno1
C EXFMT recordno2

This should accomplish what you want if I think I know what you are
needing.

Subject
Indicator not working after Enter Key?

I have 02 record formats in my WORKSTN File.

I have put an indicator on 1st record format in Protect Option, which
should
be On when I press enter on 1st Record, and the field should be protected,

but before the enter key, it should be editable. I have used Overlay in
RecordNo2 so that RecordNo1 does not disappear.

What I have done is:

D DISPIND DS
D PKEY 01 01N
C EXFMT recordno1
C EVAL PKEY=*ON
C EXFMT recordno2

The problem is that after pressing Enter on RecordNo1, the Field in
RecordNo1 still editable and not protecting, what should I do to overcome
this problem ?

Best Regards,

Luqman
