I guess I would categorize it as a SAX (Simple API for XML) parser
because it follows the basic event driven model where you register
procedure handlers to be called when an entity/node is found within a
document. But if you look at the http://expat.sourceforge.net/ site they
don't explicitly say it is SAX.
