At one point we determined that a temporary value was being created and that 
address passed to the called procedure.  Removing the *String keyword corrected 
the situation.  It's possible the parameters weren't pointers at the time. 

Looking at it now I think I see what you mean though.  If I specify *String for 
the second parameter I wouldn't need the statement before the call that adds 
the null terminator, the compiler would take care of that for me.

I don't think I see a benefit for the first parameter though.

Rick, why did you take out the Options(*string)?  It's valid for both
parameters, and it would be useful for your second parameter.
