I think it was the limit on the S/38... A command string is (was???) limited to 6000 characters. -Bob -----Original Message----- From: rpg400-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:rpg400-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Barbara Morris Sent: Monday, November 08, 2004 1:58 PM To: rpg400-l@xxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: Re: Prototype Calls Scott Klement wrote: > ... > Actually, QCMDEXC accepts any size from 1 to 32702 chars. I don't know where I got the idea that it was 3000, but I suspect I'm one of the causes of the "3000" error because I used QCMDEXC as an example in a very early article about prototypes. I just looked at the V4R3 documentation and it says the limit is 6000. http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/cgi-bin/bookmgr/BOOKS/qb3auo01/6.2?DT=19971016 213214 The V3R2 documentation doesn't specify a limit, but it uses 3000 in the example. http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/cgi-bin/bookmgr/BOOKS/qbkauo00/6.2?SHELF=&DT=1 9940623063755 -- This is the RPG programming on the AS400 / iSeries (RPG400-L) mailing list To post a message email: RPG400-L@xxxxxxxxxxxx To subscribe, unsubscribe, or change list options, visit: http://lists.midrange.com/mailman/listinfo/rpg400-l or email: RPG400-L-request@xxxxxxxxxxxx Before posting, please take a moment to review the archives at http://archive.midrange.com/rpg400-l.
