If you have on the local system a similar file (same field, same record format) but with another name, you can issu an OVRDBF before the compile. In the F spec I normal put a made up file name to refer the remote DDM file. See example below: FCUSMAST IF E K DISK FCUSMASTDDMIF E K DISK usropn Everything is fine, until I need to compile or recompile it due to file changes. Compiler errors it out because CUSTMASTDDM doesn't really exist. It would be nice if we can have a keyword that specify the actual file to use when compiling it. thanks -- This is the RPG programming on the AS400 / iSeries (RPG400-L) mailing list To post a message email: RPG400-L@xxxxxxxxxxxx To subscribe, unsubscribe, or change list options, visit: http://lists.midrange.com/mailman/listinfo/rpg400-l or email: RPG400-L-request@xxxxxxxxxxxx Before posting, please take a moment to review the archives at http://archive.midrange.com/rpg400-l. *** eSafe scanned this email for malicious content *** *** IMPORTANT: Do not open attachments from unrecognized senders ***
