One way is to set the SystemDefault.properties file in the home directory of the user. If the *USRPRF hase 'Home directory . . . . . . . . . . . . . . : /home/USERNAME' then create a file called '/home/USERNAME/SystemDefault.properties' and add this line: java.version=1.4 I don't know how to change it for a particular program regardless of user. Another way is to remove all the prior versions to 1.4, unless you have a routine that requires one of them. This would change it for ALL programs and ALL users. -----Original Message----- date: Mon, 4 Oct 2004 08:44:53 -0500 from: "Christen, Duane J." <dchristen@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> subject: Setting the JVM version Does anyone know how to set the JVM version within RPG? Without using the JNI APIs? I have built a test RPG program to call some simple Java methods, which works great. I am told by the person building the Java programs that we will need to use version 1.4 of the JVM, but by default the AS/400 uses version 1.3 of the JVM. Thanks Duane Christen P.S. All of the information in this list on RPG/Java interface was a great help getting to this point! Thanks to all of the contributers!
