Sounds like the right track. I have something similar in my SPLTOOL utilty call List Spooled Filed Attributes (SPLATT). It will list spooled file entries to a physical file using a host of parameters for selection. So you could get a list of all spooled files in an output queue, read through the PF created for those that are *HLD, and then release them. Sounds like you're on the right track. You could get most of the attributes from the QUSLSPL API, then skip using the QUSRSPLA API. But the QUSLSPL requires the use of key entries to get the attributes in question. Not very easy, but after you've done it once, it's pretty simple.
