Subfile problem

I have been experimenting with seperating database access from my
displays after reading the 'Sorcerers guide' .  I decided to try this on
a subfile program.  I'm now trying to run this program and I'm getting
the following error. When I try to display the subfile. 
 SFLDSPCTL or SFLDSP option required for PUTGET.  
 C                                                
 SFLDSPCTL or SFLDSP option required for PUTGET.  
 C                                                
 Session or device error occurred in file RGCTLDF.
 Session or device error occurred in file RGCTLDF.

I searched through the archives for this error and saw some references
to using the invite and putovr keywords.  I have tried this, but I'm
still getting this error.  
Any ideas?
