Here is one way:

CRTOUTQ OUTQ(MYLIB/MYPRT)
         RMTSYS(*INTNETADR)
         RMTPRTQ(ANY)
         CNNTYPE(*IP)
         DESTTYPE(*OTHER)
         MFRTYPMDL(*WSCST)
         WSCST(QSYS/QWPDEFAULT)
         INTNETADR('192.168.1.1')

STRRMTWTR(MYPRT)

The magic is that WSCST QSYS/QWPDEFAULT will translate EBCDIC to ASCII,
but not introduce any special control characters into the print stream.

You can then write an RPG program to spool any postscript you like. RPG
and PostScript are a great fit, IMO. Since it is a text based format, I
think it works well with RPG.

%!PS
/Palatino-Roman 162 selectfont
108 36 moveto
52 rotate
(PostScript!) show
