Hi All
I tried the same with the following code and checked in Debug mode
D DS1 DS
D Fld1 5P 0
C Z-add 4 Fld2 5 0
C Z-add fld2 fld1
C seton LR

Though fld1 before move is "40404"(Hex zero). when it move fld2 to fld1 it
is not giving Decimal data error....
Any thought on this

Manoj

Yep that was the problem....thanks...Always thought decimal data error
occurred on the field from which data was moved from. Never bothered to
check the field into which data was moved.

It could be PNoLines that has the invalid data. Did you check that in debug?
If PNoLines is defined in a data structure, it could have X'404040' in it.
Try using the INZ keyword on the PNoLines definition if it is in a data
structure.

Hi all,

Here is a line of code from my ILE program.

0064.00 C z-add $LIN# PNoLines

$LIN# is Packed 5,0 and PNoLines is also 5,0.

This line crashes with a Decimal Data Error. At debug I note that the value
of %LIN# is 00004. Why would this be a decimal data error. Also I changed
the value to 00003 and it works just fine.
