Yep that was the problem....thanks...Always thought decimal data error occurred on the field from which data was moved from. Never bothered to check the field into which data was moved. Did you check that in debug? If PNoLines is defined in a data structure, it could have X'404040' in it. Try using the INZ keyword on the PNoLines definition if it is in a data structure. -----Original Message----- From: rpg400-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:rpg400-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Bala, Narsi Sent: Wednesday, April 07, 2004 14:31 To: rpg400-l@xxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: Decimal Data Error Hi all, Here is a line of code from my ILE program. 0064.00 C z-add $LIN# PNoLines $LIN# is Packed 5,0 and PNoLines is also 5,0. This line crashes with a Decimal Data Error. At debug I note that the value of %LIN# is 00004. Why would this be a decimal data error. Also I changed the value to 00003 and it works just fine. <snip> _______________________________________________ This is the RPG programming on the AS400 / iSeries (RPG400-L) mailing list To post a message email: RPG400-L@xxxxxxxxxxxx To subscribe, unsubscribe, or change list options, visit: http://lists.midrange.com/mailman/listinfo/rpg400-l or email: RPG400-L-request@xxxxxxxxxxxx Before posting, please take a moment to review the archives at http://archive.midrange.com/rpg400-l.
