Gina, I'm a longtime RPG programmer, and a big native I/O bigot. I absolutely love native DB2/400 access, and I think SQL is highly overused. But STILL, I think that you're doing a great job with embedded SQL. Is it as easy as we would like? No. But the fact that it is available has allowed me, Mr. Native, to do things I couldn't have done otherwise. So, despite all the kicking and screaming about it, please take comfort in the fact that the only reason we're complaining is BECAUSE WE ALL USE IT! My guess is that embedded SQL is probably used more than a lot of other RPG "enhancements", so don't be discouraged. Maybe one day you might want to put out one of those dollar lists like the RPG enhancements, but just for the precompiler. I know some of the things we want are far more expensive than others; by forcing us to put dollar amounts on them, you might get a better idea of the things that REALLY would make it easier for us. Joe
