Why can't we have a setting in PDM that is designed to match that option? --------------------------------------------------------- Booth Martin http://www.MartinVT.com Booth@xxxxxxxxxxxx --------------------------------------------------------- -------Original Message------- From: RPG programming on the AS400 / iSeries Date: 11/18/2003 1:58:50 PM To: 'RPG programming on the AS400 / iSeries' Subject: RE: RPG IV release levels and complexity > From: rob@xxxxxxxxx > > But the standard question, is how many people are buying new packages for > their iSeries when their version of release is two versions back? This is a good point, Rob. What I'd like to see is a reasonable way to integrate the two - existing legacy systems and new development. New development can be developed exclusively using the new tools, while legacy systems use a set of "legacy extension" tools. The LE tools won't get the same bucks as the new tools, but there will still be interoperability. What I'd like to see from IBM is a roadmap for legacy interoperability. Instead of this pie-in-the-sky "move to EJB" silliness, what I want is a way to be able to use the newest RAD tools to add function and features SEAMLESSLY to my existing back end systems. Give me a tool do this, and it's the next killer app. Joe _______________________________________________ This is the RPG programming on the AS400 / iSeries (RPG400-L) mailing list To post a message email: RPG400-L@xxxxxxxxxxxx To subscribe, unsubscribe, or change list options, visit: http://lists.midrange.com/mailman/listinfo/rpg400-l or email: RPG400-L-request@xxxxxxxxxxxx Before posting, please take a moment to review the archives at http://archive.midrange.com/rpg400-l.
