He's not passing a pointer directly, but rather is passing parameters by reference. In any case, this appears to be one of those instances where you have a CL program which you run directly (or from a menu, etc) and it calls multiple RPG's consecutively. At least, that's my interpretation, since he showed a PI for each RPG, but only showed DCL's for his CLP.
