That's the keywords: the originator of the variables (that allocates the memory for 1 char)! Now, I understand. This CLP is a shell program, where all the RPGLE got called from. Somewhere within the CLP, I need to insert an RPGLE program to get the authorized warehouses and put it in array, to be used by the other RPGLE pgm, which is also called from that CLP. If the CLP is not the originator of that array (Mark's example), then I can pass thru it from an RPGLE pgm to another RPGLE pgm (cause it only passed the address, which is already allocated enough in the 1st RPGLE pgm). Is my illustration close to accurate? Thank You very much Scott, and all! Jean Reksodiputro __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!?
