Using the QUSLFLD API is overkill, eh?

I've been thinking of someday (sigh..) writing a simple
procedure to return the basic PF (or LF, etc.) stuff in a
procedure call: type, length, decimals, instead of
hardcoding everything upon need.

data structure?

| David,
|
| I have a routine that tokenizes a String into array
elements. In order
| to do what you are asking the routine would have to know
the exact data
| structure layout and field names so it doesn't seem
likely, but you
| could easily loop through this array and populate your
specific DS.
| Maybe you could even do a nifty pointer trick to make it
automagic, but
| it hurts my head to think of that right now...
|
| Hre's the doc, see if this will help:
