A technique that I have used periodically in the past
was to chain to the subfile record that reflects the
deleted record, change one of the fields to
****DELETED***, protect the subfile input field (if
there is any) then update the record.  On redisplay it
would reflect the record as deleted.  Later when the
subfile is rebuilt, it just won't appear.
