Two reasons I can think of: 1) It would be very expensive to rework all examples - remember they have to be translated into goodness knows how many languages 2) If they did do it, then someone else on the list would be complaining about the lack of fixed format examples. You must have already seen the postings from people who have said they will never adopt /free. There have also been complaints on the list when Hans or others post a /free solution to a problem. Does it impact the speed of adoption ? I doubt it very much. RPG IV has been out for 10 years and still shops code in RPG400 (yuck) - how much slower could it get?
