Peter: My apologies for the late reply, but work has been far too busy this week. As I said, it's been a couple (actually three) years since the last time I requested this from IBM, so I can't clearly say what they have today nor the procedure for getting anything. I seem to recall that the three times I made the request -- at three different work sites over the years -- it never exactly was a straight download. Because this is something of a loss-leader, this IBM group wants info about you before they make it available. You tell them stuff like what company you're with and your reason for interest, and they either e-mail savefiles to you or give you access to an area of an FTP server. The direct link is here: http://www-1.ibm.com/servers/eserver/services/assets/tcp_scktclient.html or http://makeashorterlink.com/?O3C823165 More related stuff is at: http://www-1.ibm.com/servers/eserver/services/assets/tcpipcomponents.html or http://makeashorterlink.com/?D28442565 There's no real support beyond some initial questions since that first is definitely freeware, but I've never needed any support. The stuff works great after you've code a few test samples for yourself. Naturally what they want is for you to consider buying the full-blown Duplex Sockets Server stuff or whatever it's called now. And I have no problem saying that that product more than paid for itself in the first 60 days of use at the two sites where we purchased it. Only needed the freeware at the third site although full purchase is regularly reconsidered. At least the freeware savefile ought to be requested by every iSeries shop that's considering learning sockets programming. Tom Liotta rpg400-l-request@xxxxxxxxxxxx wrote: > 11. RE: RPGMail is here!
